Between the three Christmas' we had, the neighborhood drama, Sky starting her separation anxiety phase, and teaching Chase that, yes, his sister got toys too, not just him, I have lost track of all my days and sanity. I have been a horrible writer, blogger, and poster. But in my defense, holidays steal lives.
Let's catch up for a minute, shall we?
Christmas was a lot of fun for us. Christmas Eve we had Kyle's family all here to celebrate. The kids had a blast, and looked mighty adorable if I say so myself. Christmas morning we drove over to my mom's house and did Christmas with my sister, her fiance, and my mom. So much fun. And then this past Sunday, we went back over to my mom's house so we could see my nephew and his adoptive family. That kid is too damn cute too. My sister and I make cute babies. End of story!
The kids are doing good all things considered. I'm not allowed to leave whatever room Sky is in unless I want her to completely lose it. That's been fun. Chase is learning the life long lesson of "not everything is his." He's been quite a little terror since Christmas with Sky's toys. He runs away with them, Skylar cries, I leave the room to go find them, Skylar cries some more, I give the toys back to Skylar, then Chase cries because I took away "his" toys. Sound familiar to anyone else?
I've saved the best news for last though. I'm sure most of you saw me post on Twitter and Facebook (if you didn't, well, follow me silly gooses!) something about a "Mommy Vacation." My birthday is next month, and for my birthday, my husband booked me a round trip ticket to see one of my best friends in Washington. I'm spending a long weekend with her and her family. I'm so excited for this mini vacation. I've been counting down the days! I'm going to miss my family, of course. But I can't remember the last time I spend more than 14 hours with this girl since high school. SO. FLIPPIN. EXCITED.
Now that we've caught up just a bit, here's what I have in store (and I promise to stick with it this time!) for the next month.
